Matt Ward Joins 'Arrow' Season 3 as Komodo
Arrow has added another new face to Season 3, this time on the rogues side of things.
Matt Ward (TRON: Legacy) has joined the cast as Simon Lacroix, the man best known to DC Comics fans as the villainous Komodo. Simon is an archer and mercenary who, under the codename Komodo, brings his own special brand of chaos to Starling City -- and to the life of the Arrow (Stephen Amell).
However, Komodo won't simply be a throwaway Villain of the Week, as executive producer Marc Guggenheim insists that the separate, weekly villains will begin to tie into the overall mythology of the season.
“Yes, he’s the villain-of-the-week for the second week of the show, but you’ll see that Team Arrow’s pursuit of him is part and parcel of a season-long storyline,” said Guggenheim. “You’re going to know what happens to Komodo at the end of the episode, but it will be a little bit tied in better with the season-long mythology than villain-of-the-week episodes have done in the past.”
Ward joins an impressive cast of newcomers that includes David Cubitt as Manhunter, J.R. Ramirez as Manhunter, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Peter Stormare as Vertigo, and Devon Aoki as Katana. So yeah, Season 3 is going to bring it, in a big way.
Ward seems like a solid fit for the role. In short, it should be a hell of a showdown. And we'll get to see it the week after the Arrow Season 3 premiere, which comes to The CW on Oct. 8 at 8:00 PM ET.
