Matt Giraud - Hard to Handle - Live from Honolulu MP3

Matt Giraud opens his set with Hard to Handle on the American Idols Live! 2009 Tour

This is a great song choice specially since Anoop Desai just finished with an upbeat My Prerogative. The crowd is pumped. And then, Matt slows everything down abruptly with Georgia on the piano.

I think that Matt is known best for being the "dueling pianist" on the show, so I think he chose to perform his last two songs behind the keys.

I affectionately describe Matt Giraud as the only contestant in American Idol history to be voted off 3 times by America:

1. Voted off during the Top 36 Semi-Final (He made it to the Top 12 via Judge pick Wild Card),
2. Voted off during the Top 7 (then saved by the "Judges Save"),
3. Voted off finally during the Top 5 elimination

However, Matt has a lot of support on the tour with his fans frequently trending #signmattgiraud on Twitter. He even wears a fedora at one point "to make the hardcore fans happy."

Matt is hosting Make the Cut, an online reality contest for singers and vocalists.
