Massive Fail at the Apple Store Fifth Avenue
So I go to the Apple Store at the ungodly hour of 3 AM, only to be rejected by a concierge noob who even had the gall to show me attitude. Even after I spent $99 for ProCare Membership, the asshole still wouldn't budge. OBVIOUSLY I need my computer fixed ASAP, and the best he could offer was to setup an appointment. Next appointment? 4 AM on Thursday. That's the best this idiot could do for me even with ProCare membership: come back tomorrow. Yeah, as if I go to stores at 3 o'clock in the morning everyday. There's a reason the Apple Store in Fifth Avenue is open 24 hours you idiot. You accommodate people who obviously have some need. Fine, I can understand that you guys are booked, perhaps understaffed -- but that doesn't take away the fact that someone is coming to your store at 3 AM because they desperately need repairs done. And you would rather turn them away?
Thankfully, Tony, who also works at the store, offered to see if he could get me seen. I'll have to wait an hour in this store, which is acceptable given that I'm already here. We'll see what happens. He directed me to the concierge again who said that maybe an hour or more wait, and stupidly reminded me that I still had that appointment on Thursday. What an idiot. If I'm here, I'm going to wait and who the frackin' cares about Thursday.
Now just to highlight what a total idiot this person is, the ensuing wait turned out to be a nightmare. First of all, we've already established the fact that my problem could be with the logic board -- how do we know? He looked at my computer! So in essence, this is just a look at the computer, see the problem, bam, print the job sheet and its over. We both already knew it without testing the thing. Also, the reason why I wanted to be seen was so the job order could be on the top of the line today so repairs can be done today, and I can get this computer back at the soonest possible time. So from 4 AM to 5:45 AM he made me wait -- put 4 people ahead of me out of spite -- until I was finally infuriated and gave him the look of disgust. I mean c'mon. It was such a routine look see, he could have placed me in at any point in the line -- he already told some people that they were behind so it didn't matter. OR, if he knew that he was going to do that, he should have explained quite properly that unfortunately all these people came and we'll see them first. A little TLC is all someone needs when their computer is sick.
And guess what? When I was finally seen, and the job order was done -- IN FIFTEEN MINUTES! The mother-F#$%@r!
Look Billy -- I'm just any other customer. I'm not demanding anything else but just to be treated like any customer. If it's obvious that I have issues -- it is your job to help me, and not just flirt with the girl customers because you are working in the "cool Apple Store". That sucks for you because you are a concierge at the Apple Store -- but that's your job. You are the welcoming committee for this store and you suck!!! Now the result of this is that all the New Yorkers who read Rickey.org will stay away from you that guy in the orange shirt with long curly hair in the Apple Store who doesn't know how to treat customers in obvious desperate need. You are a disgrace, you loser.
I couldn't find Tony when I left to thank him -- I wanted to take his picture. He was a cutie. Cuties always win.
And yes, I have every intention to complain to the manager when I get this computer back this week.
