Martina McBride To Launch 'Everlasting' Tour

Martina McBride recently released a brand new album entitled Everlasting, so to celebrate she is taking the collection of classic soul and R&B covers out on the road.

The Everlasting tour will encompass plenty of the new material, but will also make time for some of her hits and fan favorites, to make sure nobody is left out.

Kicking off on May 8th in Salinas, Kansas, rehearsals are currently underway, with Martina planning to make the whole show appear straight out of the 60's and 70's, just like the album. "It's coming out exactly as I dreamed it," she explains. "It's so much fun, and I want it to really be a visual experience for the audience as well as a musical experience. So, it's a little bit of a throwback to Motown. We've got the guys all in matching suits. I've got a horn section for the first time - a four-piece horn section. We've got a three-piece background vocal section. I've never carried a background vocal section, so that's a lot of fun."

She continues, "I think it's really unique and fresh, and the fact that we only get to do it for a short period of time is... I'm missing it before it even starts. So I really hope people come out and experience it because it's gonna be really special."

Martina also had the honor of seeing her album go straight to #1 on the Billboard country charts when it was released on April 7. This was especially impressive considering its release on her own independent label, Vinyl Recordings with Kobalt Label Services. "It's really special and gratifying," she mused. "You never know how people are going to react to it - whether they're going to like it or not like it - so it's always a little nerve-wracking to put any new music out. It feels good when you work so hard on a project that you really believe in and love, and people accept it."
