Marlisa Punzalan sang 'Paparazzi' on The X Factor Australia 2014 Live Show 2.

You know, considering Marlisa was incredibly ill just two days previous (and likely still was while singing here), I found this really impressive. I didn't love the song choice, but I think Marlisa is an incredible talent who really came through when it counted. Granted, if I had any issues with the performance it was that she seemed to be concentrating too hard, which I saw more as a byproduct of her carefully measuring each note in her head, lest instinct take over and she accidentally push her voice past its capabilities. I also found it a bit strange that she opted out of pronouncing the "l" in "love" during the chorus, but maybe it would have caused her voice to crack if she had? I don't know her reasons any better than I knew why Burnell Taylor put an "m" at the end of seemingly ever word of "My Cherie Amour".

All that having been said, I still mostly enjoyed this performance from Marlisa. What do you think?
