Mark Hamill To Reprise Role as The Trickster on 'The Flash'

Luke Skywalker is coming to The Flash! Not as Luke Skywalker, mind you, but he's coming just the same!

Mark Hamill will reprise his role as The Trickster on an upcoming episode of The CW's The Flash. He will reprise his role from the original 1990s CBS version of The Flash, playing the role of James Jesse a.k.a. The Trickster.

In this version of The Flash, The Trickster is serving a life sentence at Iron Heights, although he still finds a way to get under the skin of The Flash, while also putting Central City in peril. Perhaps we'll get a reunion of sorts behind bars? John Wesley Shipp, who originally played Barry Allen in the 1990s series, stars in The Flash as the wrongly incarcerated father of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). Here's hoping! (Hell, if nothing else, it'll just be great to have Hamill back in the DC Universe. His voiceover work as The Joker is unequaled in terms of supervillainous excess.)

“Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash,” said exec producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Christmas and Chanukkah came early for us this year when he said yes!”

However, we're going to be waiting a while for Hamill's appearance: he will arrive in the 17th episode of the show's 22-episode season. But there's still plenty to get excited about, as The Flash midseason finale airs this Tuesday at 8:00 PM on The CW. Will we find out who killed Barry's mother? We'll have the full recap and review on Tuesday night, so be sure to swing by!
