Mario Vazquez Mini-Interview

Mario Vazquez (from Extra) (SORRY, no more bandwidth!)

Arghh, there's just so many things I can say about this clip but I don't want to get into another argument. Maybe next week.

Well...there I can't help it, for starters, "there's nothing wrong, just a private issue that's all..." but serious enough to leave the biggest show on TV watched by millions! Please... don't get me started. I like love Mario, but if I weren't a fan, this would be a totally unacceptable reason to leave. His own family didn't even know what the hell was going on with this "private family issue" -- and the question is not about timing, not only did the family not know he left, they had no idea why! Sigh. Mario needs to be careful and stay under the radar for the rest of the year. He can't just walk away from Idol and not have Fox be suspicious of his every move from now on. He just sent a big "f*ck you" up their way and they will not take it lightly.

This actually is a big PR mess. But then again, at least Mario's free to do what he wants. I think however that he will have a hard time finding a record contract without Fox crying foul. But then again, perhaps he did find the perfect exit with Fox having no legal grounds against him, which I am totally hoping happened. He will have to stick with his "private issues" for months however or he'll be quickly labeled persona non grata. (William Hung was a different story, Idol didn't want him, Idol definitely wants Mario.)

Whew. What a relief. I'm not out to hurt anyone, just doing a reality check. Don't worry, I'll be pimping Mario when I can. I'll try to look for him in New York. I get lucky sometimes.
