Carey tweeted that her new single, titled "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" featuring rappers Rick Ross and Meek Mill will be released in August. Looks like Mimi will stay strictly urban, vying for a big hit. I'm feeling confident about this one, and I have no doubt that she will deliver. After revealing the song & its featured guests, Carey tweeted, "I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics #WIN."

In other news, Deadline is reporting that Carey is close to signing a deal with American Idol, contrary to the words of her husband. The report says:

I hear Carey would command a salary of more than $17 million for next season, which would set a new record for talent on a reality series, eclipsing the paycheck of Idol‘s Jennifer Lopez.

Can we just know what's going to happen already?
