Margot Robbie Reportedly Cast as Harley Quinn in DC's 'Suicide Squad'

Margot Robbie had a huge breakout role in last year's Best Picture nominee, The Wolf of Wall Street. Now, she's reportedly transitioning to one of the most anticipated films of 2016.

Just days removed from rumors that Oscar winner Jared Leto is DC's choice to play The Joker, sources state that Robbie will play Joker's lover/sidekick Harley Quinn in DC's supervillain team-up movie, Suicide Squad. First introduced in Batman: The Animated Series, Dr. Harleen Quinnzel was a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum who turned to crime after being seduced by The Joker. Since then, Harley Quinn has become a fairly popular character on her own.

Robbie is a pretty great choice for the role. Her intensity was already evident in The Wolf of Wall Street, and as a bonus, she basically sounds like Harley Quinn in the movie as well. his is without even getting into how much she looks the part. It's one of the best casting decisions for this new DC Universe so far, in my opinion. I'm really optimistic about her ability to pull this off.
