Fifty Shades of Grey has added an Academy Award winner to its ranks.

Marcia Gay Harden, who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 2000's Pollock, has been cast in Fifty Shades of Grey as Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, the adoptive mother of Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), Elliot Grey (Luke Grimes), and Mia Grey (Rita Ora). That leaves just Christian's father, Carrick Grey, still to be cast.

Harden currently stars on ABC's Trophy Wife, and appeared in a crucial arc on season two of HBO's The Newsroom over the summer, a pair of roles that have kept her in the public eye. Fifty Shades of Grey has only just begun filming in Vancouver, Canada, with production having commenced on Sunday, Dec. 1. Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey is expected to hit theaters on Feb. 13, 2015.
