Marcel Marceau died last Saturday

Mime legend Marcel Marceau dies (CNN)

Marcel Marceau, who revived the art of mime and brought poetry to silence, has died, his former assistant said Sunday. He was 84.

Marceau died Saturday in Paris, French media reported. Former assistant Emmanuel Vacca announced the death on France-Info radio, but gave no details about the cause.

This news reminded me of the time when my sister and I -- in our effort to be "cultured" -- went to see every visiting foreign act that performed in the Cultural Center of the Philippines. We watched Marcel Marceau, but he was already older then. (And yes, we did feel "cultured".)
