'Man of Steel' sequel gets the greenlight; 'Justice League' to follow?

The review embargo has been lifted on Man of Steel, and critics are pretty high on the new, Zack Snyder-helmed take on the Superman mythos.
Perhaps emboldened by the praise, Warner Bros. has greenlit and fast-tracked a sequel to Man of Steel. Moreover, the studio is so confident in Man of Steel's prospects for success that they are now reportedly putting their faith in screenwriter David S. Goyer to tackle the big-screen adaptation of Justice League.
However, while the sequel news is official and confirmed, the Justice League news is a little less than concrete. The speculation of Goyer's involvement is the result of Goyer's three-picture screenwriting deal with Warner Bros. Man of Steel is the first project, the sequel would be the second, and many are presuming that Justice League would be the third. which included Man of Steel, a sequel, and then presumably Justice League. In addition, Goyer fanned the flames of speculation by declaring, at the Man of Steel premiere in New York City, that he's putting The Avengers on notice.
Goyer has already proven to be a hot commodity in the world of superhero blockbusters, having scripted Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films. If he does end up carrying the torch for Justice League, I wonder if he'll be able to convince Christian Bale to return as Batman? Bale has openly stated he would give Batman another go if Christopher Nolan came to him with a story that was good enough to warrant it. Given that Nolan is a producer on Man of Steel, and would likely team up with past-partner Goyer, it doesn't seem entirely beyond the realm of possibility that we might someday see Bale and Henry Cavill sharing screentime together as Batman and Superman, respectively. Fingers crossed.
