Man dies in car crash after sister commits suicide

Ricky Tucker, 20, was killed in a car crash, following an ambulance which took his sister to the hospital. His sister, Brenda Tucker, 21, had just committed suicide with a gun shot wound through the chest in the backroom of the Texas Bar in Detroit.

An added twist to this tragedy: Ricky Tucker had killed his step father with gun in self-defense just 6 months earlier.

It was after midnight Sunday when Brenda Tucker picked up a pistol, went into a back room and shot herself in the Detroit bar where she worked.

After the ambulance arrived, her younger brother jumped into her car outside the bar and headed to the hospital where she was taken.

Neither made it there alive.

Ricky Tucker, 20, was killed in a car crash early Sunday as he rushed to check on his 21-year-old sister, police and family told the Free Press.

Both were at Texas Bar & Grill when Brenda Tucker, who suffers from depression, shot herself in the chest.

The siblings ended up at St. John Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

This incident now marks the third death in the family in the past six months, Falbo said. The uncle said Ricky Tucker fatally shot his step-father in self-defense.

“The boy — the one who just died — killed his step-dad. They were shooting back and forth, and he killed him in self-defense," Falbo said. "The police let him right out of jail, because [his step-father] was shooting at him.

“Three people in one family killed in six months,” Falbo said. “These kids’ mother is going through hell.”
