Make It Or Break It - To Thine Own Self Be True - Recap
It's the day of Kaylie's much anticipated return to the gym but not everyone is thrilled to see her. Austin still doesn't think she's ready and Kelly Parker couldn't be happier to take Emily's place on the World Team. Sasha holds a press conference to announce his newly appointed coaching job of both the National and World team. However, he has one surprising announcement to add. He won't be allowing Kaylie to compete in World's. He won't even be allowing her to train. Needless to say, Kaylie is shocked by this news. It took everything she had to walk back into the gym. Sasha announces he'll be holding auditions to fill Kaylie's spot.
Lauren is already picking out wedding dresses for Summer to wear when she marries Steve. Lauren is less than thrilled when she notices Summer not being enthusiastic and hesitating when it comes to actually telling people about her engagement. Lauren's fix for this is to immediately throw Summer a surprise Bridal Shower and manipulate her with tears into adopting her. Oy. But to be honest, I hope Lauren succeeds here. Summer and Sasha were kind of horrible together. Or at least Summer was. She's so stubborn. Summer conveniently walks in on a shirtless Sasha working out and begrudgingly tells him the news. Aww :( Sad, puppy eyed, shirtless Sasha needs a hug!
Kaylie encourages Damon to try and find Emily and make things work. He has dreams and the last thing he wants is to be a teen father. I don't blame him. But then again..Condoms people. Condoms. Austin punching Damon in the gut for hugging Kaylie knocks some sense into her. She had previously been accepting Sasha's word that she won't be going to World's, thereby practically eliminating her chance to go to the Olympics. Kaylie decides she wants to fight for it. She knows she's ready and she has Payson, Lauren and the rest of the guys backing her up.
Max pursues Payson and tries to convince her that it's her that he likes. They have a heart to heart and he accepts that he should start with being there for her as a friend. Then he goes and allows Lauren to make out with him. Really how hard is it to push Lauren off? I'm not loving Max. But he helps the girls train Kaylie. They break into the gym at night to help her get ready for the auditions but unfortunately for them, Kelly Parker is still around causing trouble. She rats them out and Sasha catches them. After much arguing and insistence from the guys, Sasha agrees to see Kaylie perform. She does it well but his mind still hasn't changed. After speaking with Kaylie's therapist and trying to convince himself that Kaylie isn't emotionally ready, Sasha sees that he's been blaming himself for everything that's happened to the girls. He agrees to let Kaylie stay on the team and gives her another chance.
