Make It Or Break It - I Won't Dance, Don't Ask Me - Recap
The girls have to evaluate their skills as gymnasts when Sasha announced the need for new floor routines. For Lauren that just means proving she's the best but for Peyson, it means reinventing herself as a totally different gymnast. Kaylie has trouble organizing her routine as she tries to put her parents back together. She has the brilliant idea of hiring them as co managers thinking the time together will be good for them. Instead they clash over decisions for her and end up almost sabotaging her routine when they compromise on music. They end up giving her a half techno half Mozart sounding song and everyone in the gym is staring at Kaylie like they don't know what they just saw. She kinda looks like a chicken bobbing her head and doing a dance. It's no wonder all the stress is causing Kaylie to stop eating and obsess over losing weight.
Lauren is dealing with Carter and trying to convince herself that he loves her. He doesn't want to tell her the L word just because she's demanding it which if you think about it, is kind of respectable. Lauren asks her dad to hire the most prestigious choreographer around for her floor routine and is convinced she'll get her way. What she doesn't know is that her dad tells Emily's mother a choreographer is a good idea. After talking to the other Rock moms Chloe ends up hiring the same choreographer that Lauren wanted. Predictably Lauren is pissed and plots her revenge immediately.
The Choreographer isn't that amazing to me. She's kind of rude but I guess that's how you push gymnasts to be the best that they can be? But she feels like she's wasting her time with Emily and Austin steps in to help her. He tells her she has to give it everything she's got and then they eat some pizza. Great advice. Unfortunately for Emily, Lauren spies and steals Emily's routine and performs it before her. It's kinda like that scene in Bring It On when the teams have the same dance number. Emily goes out and does her best and finally shines as the best of the night.
I just love Summer and Sasha. They are just so darn cute. Summer frets over finding two tickets to the ballet on Sasha's desk and thinks Sasha is going to ask her out. After some advice from Mrs. Keeler, she drops hints to Sasha about loving the ballet. It's cute and awkward and very much like middle school. However, the tickets weren't for Summer. They're for Peyson. Sorry Summer, Peyson is Sasha's date tonight. Sasha takes Peyson to the ballet to prove to her how elegant and graceful reinventing herself can be. What a sweetie. Peyson finally gets it and is reborn an artistic gymnast. You go girl!
