Make It Or Break It - Battle of the Flexes - Recap
Granny is comin to town to visit Lauren and her dad and Lauren of course, sees this as an opportunity. An opportunity to gain something for herself and more than likely hurt someone else's feelings because let's face it, that's what she's a pro at. Lauren uses her grandmother's visit as the perfect excuse to sabotage her dad's relationship with Chloe. She sets up a family dinner, invites Emily and Chloe along, and gives Chloe the false impression that things were getting serious between her and Steve. She's thrilled he wants to introduce her to his mother and shows up conservative and charming. Lauren is never one to be deterred from a challenge and immediately steps up to embarrass Emily and her mother and their lifestyle. She makes sure to point out to everyone at the dinner table that she had to force her dad into inviting Chloe to meet her grandmother. Chloe leaves visibly upset and quite honestly, Lauren deserves a smack. Her Grandma steps up to give her one verbally. She calls her out on her lack of class and how rude she was. Finally, someone telling Lauren off. Ahh, it was beautiful.
Peyson is still depressed from her publicized failure petitioning onto the National team and tries to avoid the gym, the girls, and most of all Sacha. Sacha told her she wasn't ready and she didn't listen. I'd be embarrassed too. Sacha and Peyson's mom try to encourage her to develop herself into a different kind of gymnast now that her body is changing. She needs to adapt to these changes and she might be able to transform into a more artistic gymnast like Nastia Liukin. Peyson is hesitant and basically admits that her career is over. After a long talk with her mom and a pep talk from Sacha and his sexy accent, Peyson agrees to return to the gym. Good. Peyson really needs some happiness in her storyline. Get on it writers! I love her.
Things are about to be rocked at the Rock when Austin Tucker shows up to train there. He transfers to the gym ready to distract all the girls and piss off the others. Sacha invited him so they're just going to have to deal. He's here to stay. I get the feeling he's going to challenge Kaylie's no dating rule. After some bickering, the boys and the girls agree to a little friendly competition. Boys against the girls doing the other gender's routines. Whichever team proves they're the best, gets control of the gym. The girls prove they can accomplish all the difficult routines the boys are expected to do and the boys prove they can be just as graceful and artistic as the girls. In the end, the boys win control of the gym. Austin agrees to share and compromise with Kaylie. What do you think of Austin? I think he sees something he likes in Kaylie, even if she didn't want his autograph.
