Make It Or Break It - At the Edge of the Worlds - Recap

The Worlds team tryouts have finally arrived and unfortunately, each of the girls is facing their own obstacle. Ellen continues her reign of terror over The Rock and gets Sasha suspended as coach. What a horrible woman she is. When she's not telling anyone who will listen that Sasha is a pedophile, she's sabotaging anyone who dares to stand up to her. Grr I just want to punch her in the face. On her crap list as usual is Emily, who has enough problems with her court date being set the same day as tryouts. After Damon discovers Chloe has been bartending at a strip joint, he agrees to take Emily to see his lawyer step dad to try and help move her date. Surprise! It's the dad from Boy Meets World. Unfortunately for Emily, Ellen answers the phone at the gym and tells the judge not to do Emily any favors. Uhoh.

Sasha is such a great coach to the girls, it's a shame he never gets a break. He visits with Payson's father to convince him he's not a pedophile and that Payson's training is imperative at this point. Her dad is hesitant at first but eventually comes around and rents out a gym for his daughter to train in. Yay! Sasha's not so happy while talking to Summer about his lack of faith in himself but I am. Because in no time at all he's shirtless and making out with Summer. I appreciate this scene very much. As I sit here slightly covering my mouth in shock that Summer actually wants to have sex, Sasha tells her he could never compromise her values. Sigh. What a perfect specimen he is. Summer ends up bawling in a church somewhere and asks God for a sign. Steve walks in and cries in a seat behind her. But..what about Sasha??

Yet another person shows up to talk to Kaylie's parents about her sickness and this time, it's Austin. You would think her parents would start to think something is fishy by now. Especially her mom who has caught Kaylie hiding food already. Austin tries to convince Kaylie not to compete and even uses possibly loving her as an excuse. Kaylie's not falling for it and competes anyway. She falters during tryouts and it's not looking good for her. She collapses while performing on the beam and is rushed to the hospital.

Sasha sends his dad ahead (special guest appearance by Bela Karolyi) to look out for the rest of the girls while he puts in some last minute training with Payson. I'm happy to see people in power finally standing up to Ellen and I positively clap with joy when Bela tells Ellen to get lost. Sasha shows up with Payson and forces the national committee to see Payson represented as an artistic gymnast. They agree despite Ellen's bitchy protests and Payson KICKS ASS. Hugs all around!

Luck isn't as good for the rest of the girls. Emily gets arrested in the middle of her vault routine and is put in jail and Lauren breaks down by the bars. Upset over her mother, her dad finally tells her the truth. She was loved and her mother wanted to be with her. It gives Lauren the strength to pull off her performance and she makes it onto the World's team along with Payson, Emily, and Kaylie, pending the results of her health scare. Although happy for his girls, Sasha hitches up his trailer and leaves town. What? Why?? Noooo. Can't he see his girls need him? I expect Payson to follow him and smack some sense into him when the show returns next year.

This season was fantastic. I can't wait for the show to come back. Neil Jackson, who plays Sasha on the show, has a new project called Blood Soldiers. If you have a spare moment, head on over here to support it. It's worth it! :)
