Make It Or Break It - And The Rocky Goes To - Recap
Emily and her mother are enjoying all the perks that come with having big fat scholarship checks delivered to them. Not only can they finally have food in their fridge but Chloe can spoil her daughter with a proper beautiful championship status leotard. Yes, I said leotard and not leo. Chloe has made it her mission to attempt to be civil and kind to Lauren, two things Lauren knows nothing about. But when Lauren goes out of her way to sabotage Emily and ruin her expensive new leotard Chloe is furious. The gloves are off. With Lauren campaigning for the Miss Congeniality award, Chloe attempts to get Emily the award. Summer gets in the way with her logic (sigh) and tells Chloe that Lauren just needs someone who understands her. Personally, I think Lauren needs a smack. Evil evil girl.
Peyson is finding it hard adapting to the idea of becoming a more artistic gymnast. It's not what she's spent her life training for and we all know how stubborn she can be. But I still love her and the actress. My favorite :). She starts to ease into her career training starting over when Sasha tells her she'll be starting at level 1 with the kids. While Peyson starts at the beginning, her sister starts to excel. She's on track to be an elite gymnast and Peyson can't help but be jealous. That used to be her. She tends to excuse herself from the room when she's overwhelmed and Sasha tries to comfort her when he finds her crying at the Rock Banquet. Poor Peyson.:(
The banquet is full of drama and lies. Summer gets drunk to deal with her nerves of being the host. It's so amusing watching the innocent religious girl acting so goofy. I love the sexual tension between her and Sasha. It's intensified when she's drunk and by the end of the night they share a kiss. YAY!! He's so dreamy. Get it gurl.
The awards are given out and Lauren wins the award she wanted because her dad rigged the vote. Ugh. Like father like daughter. Kaylie wins some MVP award and gives a touching speech to her parents. She just found out that they're filing for divorce and she begs them to reconsider. When they refuse she pleads with them to wait 6 months. I get the feeling they're going to have to keep a close eye on her during those 6 months. She's determined to lose weight for a new move and she's quickly becoming obsessed.
The last award of the night is a surprise one. A new award named after it's recipient: The Peyson Keeler Award. Given to the gymnast who embodies the championship spirit. A video montage of professional gymnasts like Nastia Liukin and Peyson's friends convince her how much of an inspiration she is. It's really emotional and even I almost shed a tear. Go Peyson! Kick some ass.
