Magnolia Shorty dead at 28

Magnolia Shorty was gunned down in a shocking double homicide in her hometown of New Orleans late Monday [Dec. 20] afternoon.

Police officials in New Orleans confirmed that the Cash Money rapper was one of the victims in a double homicide that also took the life of an unidentified man. The shooting incident, which left the 28-year-old rapper dead, occurred at about 12:30PM, near Downman Road in eastern New Orleans. Authorities recovered the bodies inside a car that had crashed into an apartment complex. Both bodies had multiple gunshot wounds -- Magnolia Shorty was allegedly shot 26 times -- and were pronounced dead on arrival.

DJ Wild Wayne of local radio station Q93.3 FM first made the announcement about Shorty's death on the air on Monday afternoon. The story first spread via Twitter reports, rumors and retweets.
