Recap:

So tonight we see the return of the dreaded smoke monster! Yay! But it's still as mysterious as ever. Boo.

It's supposed to be the island's "defense mechanism" and apparently it also clones people. Hmmm...

Island stuff: Jin is alive and is interacting with Danielle and some French dudes in 1988. They get attacked by the smoke monster. One of them gets his arm ripped off. The rest go into a tunnel to help him, except Jin and Danielle. Jin time travels. He then finds Danielle killing everybody. She says all of them are clones and not the same person. She tries to kill him. Jin time travels and gets reunited with Sawyer, Locke and the rest of the crew.

Many time travel flashes of light. People get nosebleeds -- including Sawyer! Charlotte goes mental. Everyone wants to leave her, but Daniel Faraday says no. They leave them both to go to the Orchid station. They ask out loud: "If we're moving in time, how do we know the Orchid is going to be there?" Charlotte blurts: "It's at the well!" Now how the hell did she know that?

Faraday and Charlotte are alone and Charlotte remembers things: she used to live on the island as a girl! A bad man came to her one day and told her to never go back to the island because she will die! Bad man is... Faraday! Omygah. Faraday tells her: "I told Desmond to look for my mother, she will help us!" Charlotte dies.

Over at the Orchid... a flash of light, and it is now a well -- Charlotte was psychic! Jin tells Locke: "Don't bring Sun back! Here take my ring, tell her I'm dead." Locke goes into the well. Flash of light. Locke falls. Sawyer is left holding a rope going into the ground. Gah!

Locke is in that place where Ben turned that wheel which brought him off the island and started all the time travel stuff. Locke has a spike in his leg. Jack's father meets him! He tells Locke: "You were supposed to move the island, not Ben." He tells him to bring everyone together and go to Eloise Faraday (Daniel's mother) in Los Angeles -- she will tell them how to get back to the island. Locke turns the wheel. Flash of light. "Say hello to my son...!"

Real world: Sun confronts Ben, and then Ben tells her that Jin is alive and he has proof. Sayid and Kate leave because they don't want to go back to the island. Ben, Jack and Sun drive to Eloise Faraday who lives in a church. In the driveway, Ben gives Sun, Jin's ring: "Locke gave it to me." Jack: "You said John never came to see you (asshole)..." Ben: "That's true Jack, I came to see him."

Desmond arrives! They all go to meet Eloise. She is disappointed that not everyone was there. Eloise: "Sigh. This will have to do for now." End.

Some fancy pendulum stuff on the preview for next week. Excited.
