Lost - The Little Prince

Lost

Kate-centric episodes are generally a bummer but what can you do -- her story needs to be told. However, Kate was mostly a plot device that held a lot of vignettes together tonight. It allowed us to go back to the island via Sawyer -- who saw Kate deliver Claire's baby Aaron after one of their time-shifts. And over at the real world, Jack was busy convincing Kate to join him and Ben, while she herself was dealing with the person trying to take Aaron away from her. I think tonight was generally a non-event in Lost except for the reveal in the end which everyone knew would happen anyway.

I did appreciate some scenes, particularly the time-shift scene on the boat. But one detail worried me: everyone's getting nosebleeds on the island! First was Charlotte who already passed out, but is walking again. And now Miles and Juliet. Oh no, not Miles! At any rate, the time-shifts on the island were interesting but apparently dangerous for those involved.

So what was the reveal? Jin's alive. He also met the young pregnant Danielle.

The challenge for the writers is to try to connect what is happening on the island to what is happening in the real world. Last week was a success with Charles Widmore, but this week, a little iffy with Kate. But as I said, she's always been a bummer. Better to get this out of the way so we can move to more interesting characters toward the end of the season.

I love Lost!
