LOST: The Final Season – Questions, WTF moments, and ... seriously?

I really don't know where to start here. I feel like rewatching this 5 more times will only reintroduce me to the fact that this episode was not all that it could be. Darlton ran out of time and this is what happened. I want to be John Locke and have faith but it's becoming increasingly harder.

Who are they?! Okay seriously. Just tell us Jacob's brother's name already! We finally get confirmation that Jacob and MIB are indeed brothers/twins but we still don't get the biblical name that we're all shouting. Oh yeah, and that kid we saw following Flocke? Little Jacob. Fine. But what are they? Are they just metaphors for that Jacob and Esau story? I feel like if i actually read the bible I would understand this more. I was expecting Jacob and MIB to be like..I dunno Egyptian Gods or something. But it turns out they're..humans? And..special? Well WHY are they special? COME ON Darlton will you just tell us already?

The mother? So where did their crazy fake psycho mother come from? Why did she kill their real mother? If she's not like the rest of us humans then who is she? How did she get to the island? How does she know everything about the island that she does? How does she get her..powers? I feel with only one episode left before the finale that there is just zero time left to explain this and everything else.

Cave of Wonders? Okay seriously. What the hell is up with that creek? Psycho lady takes our boys to this crazy cave of wonders that's emitting an extremely bright warm glow. She starts rambling that it's full of something that's in everyone. Okay...is that good or evil? She starts describing it in a way that would make you think it's a good thing. Is it the same thing that Locke saw way back in season 1 when he was dragged down that hole? "I saw into the heart of the island and it was beautiful." But seriously..what is that light and why is it on the island? And what does all the magnetism have to do with it?

Team MIB? So throughout this episode I found myself becoming more and more sympathetic to Jacob's brother. I felt this was just what they wanted me to feel so I tried to ignore it because that jerk killed Sayid. But the more we saw the more I felt for him and got annoyed with Jacob. I love you Jacob but you were really..Forrest Gumpy tonight. Was MIB just a Daniel Faraday in the making? He seemed to have an aptitude for science and an intense curiosity. Nothing wrong with that. But Curiosity killed the cat..

Smokie? So when crazy mama realizes she can't stop MIB from leaving the island, she turns to a grumpy Jacob and tells him he has to protect the island and the light. He whines about how she loves MIB more than him (why?) and says he doesn't want to. But he ultimately gives in and drinks..what the hell was that? Magical wine potion? Ugh. But he fails immediately when he discovers his brother has stabbed their psycho mama. MIB is remorseful for his actions when Mama seems to have wanted to die. Why? She probably realizes how effed up this whole thing is.

Jacob is shocked, beats the crap out of his brother once again (when did Jacob get so zen? He has quite a temper this episode) and brings him to the cave of wonders. Crazy mama tells Jacob that if he goes inside the cave of light he will be worse than dead. So Jacob thinks this is fitting for his brother and tosses him in. Out comes Smokie. What?? Jacob just released that thing? Why? I thought the cave was good? Why is their so much evil inside it? So is it safe to say that Flocke and co isn't Jacob's brother? But just..evilness? Sigh.

Adam and Eve. Yep. Finally. Adam and Eve. Well...at least it wasn't Jack and Kate right? I thought it might be Rose and Bernard but..apparently it's Jacob's crazy mama and his innocent brother who's body washed up in the creek.

Besides for some great acting moments from both Mark Pelligrino and Titus Welliver, and a great flashback to season 1 times..this episode was strange. And I'm really confused. I'm trying to have faith. But it's difficult. We didn't see where Jacob's intense faith came from but instead just saw him throw tantrums and be eternally confused. Why and who is special?
