Lost: The Final Season - Questions, WTF moments, and European History

(Here's Noelle's Questions and WTF moments from night's episode of Lost!)
Holy crap you guys. After last week's torturous Kate episode, you just knew that a Locke episode was gonna bring it. And did it ever. My mind still hasn't completely gotten back to normal. Tonight was full of revelations that of course only brought more questions but these were big. These were major.
Recruits. Well it seems that Flocke can come and go as he pleases from Smokie form to Flocke form, but he's stuck like this. Whatever his previous form was (Man in Black?) for some reason he can't return to it. It was pretty cool seeing the island from the "monster's" point of view. Just gliding along looking for someone to hang with. Once he finds Sawyer he begins his quest to recruit him. For what? An army for his side of the battle? Flocke's main concern is getting off this island and it looks like he can't do it alone. Was he banished to the island with Jacob? How many people will he use or destroy to get what he wants? You stay away from Richard!
Does Richard know better? Scared, jumpy, vulnerable Ricardus worries and scares me. He's obviously seen enough of Flocke to be terrified of him. How powerful is he? What has he done to make Richard so scared?
John's happier ending? In John's alternate/sideways time line, we see him living happily at home with his fiance Helen. Katey Sagal is back! Please don't take her away. Helen points out that they should just invite her parents, and John's father to the wedding. His father? Does that mean that Cooper never pushed him out of the window? Or stole his kidney? If so, how did Locke become paralyzed? This Locke doesn't believe in miracles. Believe John! When John gets fired from his job, the luckiest man around, Hugo, helps him out. See John? Things are looking up already. Will all the losties lives cross just like on the island? John gets his job from Rose who still has terminal cancer. If she never goes to the island will she die? Is she with Bernard? I think maybe they'll get the choice to stay on island as "Adam and Eve."
Creepy kid sighting. Okay so in a moment that made me jump back into my chair, a creepy young blonde boy pops up and scares Flocke and Sawyer. He seems to have a glow around him and his hands are covered in blood. What. The. Heck. I have three ideas of who this might be. Aaron. Young Jacob. Young John Locke. I am not a fan of the Aaron is Jacob theories because I find them extremely lame. Young John Locke is intriguing because as a boy, when Richard visited John, he had drawn pictures of the black smoke. What does that mean exactly? Well, I have no idea. Yet.
Flocke is surprised that Sawyer can see this sixth sense apparition and chases him down. This kid needs some sneakers. He tells Flocke "You know the rules, you can't kill him." Who's him? Sawyer? Richard? What happens if he does? If Sawyer is one of the chosen ones and Flocke succeeds in killing him, will that eventually be his downfall?
The Cave of Wonders. This is really the only appropriate title for what Flocke showed Sawyer. He is taken to a cave where Jacob sat at a desk with a scale. One black rock, one white rock. An inside joke says Flocke. The scales of justice? A balance of good and evil? Flocke tosses the white stone into the water and goes about his day. Farther into the tunnel we are shown a wall filled with names carved in. Some crossed out, all with numbers aside them. Why does Jacob have a thing with numbers? Six names are left not crossed out. The chosen ones that Jacob touched with a certain 6 numbers written next to them. Why isn't Kate mentioned? Who are all the other names?
Flocke says that Jacob manipulated the Losties when they were most vulnerable to guide their path to the island. Apparently these names are ones who were eligible to protect the island. From what? Forces like Flocke? Evil? Why them? Is it really only about protecting the island and replacing Jacob? Is Flocke telling the truth or did Jacob want out? I do notice among the names crossed out of failed candidates is Godspeed. Horace was building Jacob's cabin in one of Locke's visions.
The Substitute. John finally agrees to take a job as a substitute science teacher. Ahh science. The route he should have taken all along? Remember when he turned down science camp? Finally getting away from the scary amount of children around, John makes his way to the teacher's lounge where some cranky nerd is bitching about the coffee filters. Don't you just hate people like that? The man turns around and GASP. It's Ben Linus in all his pocket protector glory. What the heck? Did his mother and father survive a happy non island existence? Is Ben's true passion in life European History? Is he manipulating the school system to steal a bunch of kids? He never did let go of that fertility issue.
All in all this episode was seriously amazing. I can't get over how much we learned. I enjoyed the easter eggs thrown in. I always love when they give me a reason to rewind and take a second look. I feel like one of these guys represents the devil. Is Flocke temptation while Jacob is faith? Once again, thanks to everyone at Lost-Tv for keeping my brain in check.
