Lost: The Final Season - Questions, WTF moments, and a Sad Sunflower
This week we get lots of Sawyer who seems to have stolen one of Richard's shiny purple shirts.
Sawyer's Off-Island life? In his flash sideways, his story starts out almost exactly like his season 1 flashback, same con, same situation. Only with a different ending, showing us that Sawyer has decided against a life as a criminal, and instead as a detective. And his partner is Miles! Aww. Friends forever. His parents are still gone and Anthony Cooper is still to blame. Bastard. Is it still Locke's father though? John and Helen seemed pretty pleasant about him a few episodes back. Maybe they just don't know? Sawyer still loves Little House though. Some things never change.
Sawyer's off-island women? When Miles told Sawyer he had a friend for Sawyer to date, part of me really hoped/thought it would be Juliet keeping that coffee date. Instead we get reintroduced to one of my least favorite newbies who just wasn't nice enough to Dan; Charlotte. Sigh. I'll wait. Impatiently. She's still an archeologist and she's still a bit snarky because Sawyer throws her out of his bedroom in no time. Will Charlotte end up with Dan? Was she ever on the island with Ben? Sawyer's flash-sideways ends with him catching a wild Kate still on the run. Send her to jail already. I'm sick of the love triangle. I hope he doesn't forget 3 years with Juliet so easily.
Claire's plan? We know that Claire has been just a little ticked off at Kate for taking her baybay, so I was more than a little surprised when she randomly acted on it. Watching her dive at Kate with a shiny dagger while Sayid sat back and watched the show was pretty amusing. So close. Then Flocke breaking them up and bitch slapping Claire really made me wonder. Besides it being really surprising and kind of funny, that slap should have some repercussions. You don't just hit the little Australian chick. Will she get revenge on Flocke for lying and hitting her? Is she genuinely done with her plans for Kate? No one likes a quitter Claire.
What is Flocke up to? Perhaps trying to gain some sympathy votes, we get a little insight into why Flocke is the way that he is. Most of our characters have daddy issues, but Flocke is different. He has Mommy issues. Who was his mother? I could get all biblical here but I won't. Why or how was his mother crazy? How did that affect Flocke? Or dare I say it..how did that affect Jacob? Did she banish him to the island? And why all of a sudden does Widmore have beef with Flocke? Are these all minor details into why Flocke wants to get away from the island? Is there anyone he won't use as a pawn? Is Aaron or Kate next?
Who killed the Ajira passengers? When Sawyer goes to the other island to check out the Ajira flight, he comes across a mass pile of dead bodies. Seriously creepy. How did they die? We're lead to believe Widmore's people killed them all but they blame it on Flocke. Who's lying here? If guilty, did Flocke give them the opportunity to join him and they refused? Did he just kill for the fun of it? Were they any threat to anyone?
When are they? Refresh my memory but I can't recall if we've ever got confirmation about what year the flash-sideways were in. I'm really fine believing that they're all in a different 2004 but lately i've been noticing clues that I don't really know what to do with. For example, last week when Ben is in the principal's office, the laptop that he is using looks much older then the kind you would see in 2004. Same with the formatting of the email he reads. In tonight's episode, I noticed the make of Sawyer's car looked a little older too. I have no theories why we would be misdirected. Maybe i'm over thinking things. But it is Lost.
This week was a little slow compared to last week and it really seems like they're setting up next week to be a big one. What's in the locked sub room? Anything interesting? Last time we had a locked compartment, there was a dead body inside. Will Juliet get that coffee date with Sawyer or is Kate the one he will choose in the end? Remember next week's episode is an extra 6 minutes long so set your DVR's properly :).
