Lost Season 6 - Episode 7: Dr. Linus - Recap

One of the best episodes this season on Lost -- and it's all about Ben!

Flash-sideways!

Ben is plotting to take over the principal's position after he was assigned to detention duty. LOL. Ironically it was substitute teacher Locke who planted the seed in Ben's mind to overthrow Principal Reynolds.

At home, we see Ben taking care of his father -- and they talk about the Dharma Initiative and the island. His father wonders what kind of life they would have had if they stated on the island. So in this "flash-sideways" the island also existed. This is as close as any reveal we've gotten so far that the "flash-sideways" is an "alternate-reality" instead of part of the current "reality" on the island. Oh no -- if this is an "it's all a dream" reveal at the end of this series, I'm gonna be disappointed.

Anyway... the key to Principal Reynolds' dismissal is given to Ben by one of his favorite students Alex -- who we know is his adopted daughter on the island. She tells him the the principal is having an affair with the nurse on campus.

Ben makes his move! He gathers e-mails -- and blackmails the principal. The principal however has an ace: he has written a recommendation for Alex which might help her get into Yale, and if he is ousted, he would do everything in his power to destroy Alex's name. Ben must choose: power he craves or Alex's future.

SPOILER ALERT

In the end, Ben chooses Alex and does not get the principal fired. And he looks genuinely happy about his decision. Good job Ben! We knew there was good in you!

The Island!

Ben catches up with Ilana, Miles, Sun and Frank. They decide to go to the old camp by the beach. While going there, Ilana asks Miles to tell them how Jacob died. Miles does his thing with Jacob's ashes and says: "Linus killed him." Uh-oh! "With a dagger."

Ilana says: "Jacob was the closest thing I had to a father." Ben is f#cked! Hahaha.

When they arrive at camp, Ilana chains Ben to a tree and commands him to dig his own grave at gunpoint.

Miles reveals to Ben that at the final moments Jacob hoped that he was "wrong about Ben" -- but of course Ben killed him anyway. Everything just going wrong for Ben now.

Flocke arrives and talks to Ben! He tells him that he is going to leave the island with some people, but needs someone to take care of the island -- that would be Ben. Flocke magically unchains Ben and tells him there is a gun by a tree that he can grab. He can meet them in the other island by the Hydra station.

When Flocke leaves, Ben runs and Ilana chases after him. He gets to the gun and tells Ilana to put down hers. Ben pauses.

Ilana: "What are you waiting for?"

Ben gives a speech! He says that he chose the island over his daughter, and he killed Jacob because he was so angry that Jacob didn't care. "I was terrified that I was about to lose that the only thing that ever mattered to me -- my power -- but the thing that really mattered was already gone."

He says that he wants her to just let him leave.

Ilana: "Where will you go?"

Ben: "To Locke."

Ilana: "Why?"

Ben: "Because he's the only one that will have me."

Ilana: "I'll have you."

OMG!

Ben follows Ilana back to the camp and doesn't go to Flocke.

But wait, there's more! Richard Alpert!

Meanwhile Hugo and Jack are lost in the jungle, and then they meet Richard. They think that Richard was leading them to the Temple but they end up at the Black Rock!

He tells them that everyone is dead in the temple. Hugo opens his mouth and says that Jacob had told him that something like that would happen. Jack is upset -- but Richard is more upset! He says that he needs to do something.

Richard: "There's something I need to do."

Jack: "To do what?"

Richard : "Die."

He then heads to the Black Rock.

Gasp!

Inside the ship, Richard explains that Jacob "touched him" (and made him immortal?) He cannot kill himself, but someone else can -- like Jack. He looks for some dynamite and asks Jack to light it and run away since the fuse is long.

Richard says he had been serving Jacob all this time because Jacob had told him that everything was happening for a reason, that Jacob had a plan, that Jacob would share the reason with him when the time is right. But now Jacob is gone.

Richard: "Why do I want to die? Because I just found out that my entire life had no purpose."

Jack lights the fuse but doesn't run. He sits in front of Richard. "Now. Let's talk."

Aaaaa!

Jack then says that he doesn't think anyone of them is going to die. He explains what happened in the lighthouse.

Jack says: "If Jacob went through all that trouble (watching over him since he was a boy from the lighthouse) -- and he brought me to this island for a reason, then it's not to blow up sitting here with you right now."

Richard: "What if you're wrong?"

Jack: "I'm not."

Fuse burns out.

Aaaaaa!

Jack (smiling): "Want to try another stick?"

They decide to go back to the beach -- where they have a reunion with the guys there.

Queue the "good guys" music...

And then camera zooms into the ocean!

A periscope shows up in the water -- it's looking at the beach. Camera goes down to the submarine.

Sailor: "Sir, there are people on the beach. Should we stop?"

"No. Proceed as planned."

Sailor: "Yes sir, Mr. Whidmore."

Aaaaaaa!!!! @%^$#&%$*^%$**&^%#$&&^$*&^!!!!!!!!!
