Lost Season 6 - Episode 14: The Candidate - Recap

I cried a lot during this episode of Lost. Writing myself out of the sadness...

Flash Sideways!

Jack tells John Locke that he is a candidate for new surgery that might make him walk again. Locke refuses. Jack does some research and finds Bernard who gives the name of Anthony Cooper to Jack.

Jack visits Anthony Cooper... John's GF Helen is there. Anthony is John's father and is an invalid.

Claire visits Jack shows him a music box that their father left her as part of his will. They don't understand why, but Jack gets startled that she was also on Oceanic 815. Suddenly, people on board Oceanic 815 are popping up in his life.

There is one point where we see John Locke sleeping and he is muttering some words that he had said on the island a couple of seasons ago like "push the button."

As John is leaving the hospital he has one final word with Jack and he explains that he got his injury in a plane crash with his father. John was the pilot. He still refused the surgery.

"I can help you John. I wish you believed me," said Jack. (Wait is that like a reversal line from the island?)

Island!

The guys are back in cages after Widmore caught them in the last episode.

Meanwhile Jack, Sayid and Flocke plot to get their friends out of Widmore's hands.

Sawyer tells Kate that her name was on the list but it was crossed out. "He (Flocke) doesn't need you," he tells her.

Sun and Jin talking in English to each other! LOL

Flocke as the smoke monster attacks and Jack free the peeps!

Flocke goes to plane to the plane in advance... he cannot be killed by bullets! He discovers C4 on the plane planted by Widmore. He says they need to take the submarine out of the island.

The guys cooperate but Sawyer tells Jack to find a way not to let Flocke in the submarine.

The submarine is not guarded and the guys storm it. The first group go in, followed by the second group of: Sayid, Kate, Claire, Jack and Flocke.

While on the pier, Jack pushes Flocke into the water! However, bullets start firing from Widmore's men and hits Kate! Claire is in commando mode sniping peeps. Jack is forced to carry Kate into the submarine even if he had already declared his intentions not to leave the island.

Flocke gets out of the water and starts shooting at Widmore's men! Sawyer comes up and calls to Claire to go in, but when he sees Flocke, he decides to close the hatch leaving Claire -- again!

Omigosh!

In the submarine, Frank commandeers the captain to dive. Jack is trying to fix Kate's wounds -- he asks for his backpack -- and then he discovers that Flocke had places the C4 with a timer in it! Oh no!

They try to go up, but it would take 5 minutes and there are only 3 minutes on the timer. Sayid has an idea of dismantling the bomb if they remove the wires simultaneously. Jack says leave it!

"He can't kill us," he says. "He wants us to kill ourselves." (By doing something to the bomb that would detonate it -- like removing wires).

He said that maybe Flocke can't leave the island unless all the candidates are dead, and that maybe he can't kill any of them because Flocke is not allowed to.

But Sawyer says he can't trust Jack and pulls the wires!

The clock stops.

Then it starts again!

Oh no. Oh no. Oh no.

Sayid tells Jack: "There's a well... Desmond's inside it... Locke wants him dead which means you are going to need him do you understand me?"

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because it's going to be you Jack!"

Sayid picks up the bomb and runs! It explodes making a big hole in the submarine!

OMG OMG OMG

Sayid is now double dead.

The peeps try to escape. Hugo takes Kate.

Frank gets hit by a door. Frank is dead.

Sun is trapped by metal stuff! Jin, Jack and Sawyer frantically try to free her.

Something falls on Sawyer's head and knocks him out! Jack is forced to take Sawyer out of the sub by himself.

Jin stays to try to save Sun! Water everywhere!

Sun tells Jin to go...

(In Korean) "I won't leave you. I will never leave you again," says Jin.

OMG IT'S SO TRAGIC! TEARS! I'm crying.

Submarine sinks.

Sun and Jin are dead.

* * * * *

Hugo, Kate, Jack and Sawyer make it to the shore. They cry.

Flocke tells Claire: "It sunk."

Claire: "They're all dead?"

Flocke says: "Not all of them." Then heads out.

Claire: "What are you doing?"

Flocke: "To finish what I started."

* * * * *

I love Lost! I hate Flocke!
