Lost Season 6 - Episode 1/2: LA X - Recap

Did you guys watch the premiere of Lost Season 6 tonight? Omigosh it was EPIC.
Read on if you want to know my thoughts from tonight's episode: "LA X".
SPOILER ALERT
My mind is pretty much blown at the moment, so my apologies if I sound like I am picking up the pieces from the floor. The story pretty much expanded into a much bigger scale than we've ever seen on this show.
One of the things I loved about tonight's episode was the first half scenes outside of the island which took place on the Oceanic 815 plane. Basically, we see what it would be like if the plane did not crash on the island. It was so surreal. Seeing Charlie and Boone (specially) in new scenes was a gift to Lost fans everywhere.
The ironies in the plane scenes were crazy. Locke was still alive, but he would continue to be in a wheelchair. And all the friendships dysfunctional they may be, and the heroic acts all our characters did while on the island, would never happen. Is this what they really wanted to get back to? It felt really sad actually.
When the plane landed in LAX, I was just wow. I know it's just a TV show, but it made me think how without the metaphoric plane crashes in our lives, for the most part, it would just be mundane.
At any rate, the second half away from the island scenes show that all is not what we think it is and there are still mysteries to be uncovered in this non-catastrophic scenario we are witnessing, in particular:
1. The body of Jack's father did not make it on the plane.
2. Kate is a fugitive on the run after she escapes security, and guess who she runs into in the cab? Claire.
3. Jin is apprehended at the airport for bringing a lot of money.
4. Desmond who sat beside Jack on the plane, "disappeared" before the plane landed.
We still don't know what these scenes of the plane crash never happening is all about and right now I have ZERO theories.
Of course, the storyline in the island also tells a different story -- which is where more mind implosion occurs for this hardened Lost fan. So we get scenes in LA when the crash doesn't happen, but on the island: we get scenes with our characters as if nothing happened. The whole purpose of destroying the Swan site was so that it would never be built and it would never explode to trigger the plane crash -- but Jack, Kate, Sawyer, etc. discover themselves in the time on the island after the Swan (hatch) exploded -- so it WAS built.
Basically, when Juliet detonated the bomb, a flash occurred teleporting everyone to their proper time zone in the future, which we find out later in the story is the same "time" as Locke, Richard, Ben, Sun, etc. are on the island at the moment.
At any rate a LOT of things happened on the island:
1. Juliet died. (Side story: Sawyer is angry at Jack). However, just before she died in Sawyer's arms, she said: "I have something very important to tell you." Dead. Oh no!
2. Sawyer buries Juliet, forces Miles to talk to her. Miles says: "It worked." Which is double-meaning because "it worked" that he was able to talk to her at will from the dead, and yes, whatever the purpose of destroying the Swan site was: "it worked." Mind blown.
3. Jacob appears to Hugo "one hour after he died". (Jacob was killed by Ben in last season's finale). He tells Hugo to bring Sayid who is dying to the temple, and to bring the guitar case he gave him. (This is the same temple that Ben was brought to when he was a child to save his life.)
4. At the temple, Jack, Kate, Hugo, Jin and Sayid on a stretcher are ambushed by the temple people (the Others?) Their leader is a Japanese guy who understands English but refuses to speak it because it tastes awful on his tongue. Well excuse me! (Also, the flight attendant on Oceanic 815 is there!)
At first they want to kill them, but after Hugo gives them the guitar case, they agree to heal Sayid in the pool of bubbling water which is not clear anymore. It doesn't work. Sayid died.
5. The Others talk to Hugo who tells them that Jacob is dead. The Others panic. They close off all entrances, protect themselves with black powder and send warning signals in the air. They want to protect themselves from "him".
6. Over at the foot of the statue, where Locke and Ben just killed Jacob:
a. From last season's finale, we see Locke's dead body in the coffin. The guys who delivered it want to see "impostor" Locke, Ben and Jacob. They storm Jacob's quarters and attempt to kill Locke -- but BIG REVEAL - he turns into the SMOKE MONSTER. Mind blown. OMG, this Locke is not really Locke and Locke is really dead!
b. Impostor Locke talks to Ben about the real Locke and how he among everyone else understood how mundane his life is outside of the island and how he didn't want to go home. However he, impostor Locke -- BIG REVEAL - says: "I want the one thing that John Locke didn't: I want to go home." Mind blown, but not so sure why.
c. The Others and Richard see the warning in the air (this is how we know everyone is in the same timeline now), and then Impostor Locke comes outside. Richard shouts: "Don't shoot him!" Then Impostor Locke says: "Hello Richard, it's good to see you out of those chains." Then beats Richard unconscious. Then says: "I am very disappointed in all of you." He carries Richard off. Mind blow, and still don't know why.
7. Back at the the temple: The Others want to talk to Jack in private but he refuses. They fight, but before it gets ugly, Hugo shouts: "Jack!"
Sayid is alive.
OMG, Lost. So epic.
My early theory is that Sayid is the new Jacob, just as Locke is the new whatever the name of Jacob's rival is.
