Local Dallas Sportscaster Eloquently Defends Michael Sam Against Bigots - Video

Local Dallas sportscaster Dale Hansen honestly admits he isn't comfortable when a man tells him he's gay, but while some might expect hate speech from a Texas newsman, Hansen goes instead in the other direction.

In an editorial at the end of a sports segment for WFAA News in Dallas, Hansen eloquently took bigots to task over their hateful statements about Michael Sam, the NFL prospect who could become the first openly-gay NFL player in history. It's a touching defense of Sam's right to play football, and of his right to be accepted. Hansen illustrates that while some people might not always understand homosexuality, there's no reason why those people can't treat gay men and women with the respect afforded any other human being.
