Lizzy Caplan - Says She Was Drunk for 'True Blood' Sex Scenes - Video

Lizzy Caplan has her fair share of sex scenes on Masters of Sex, but back when she was on True Blood she used to need to be drunk to get through them.

As she explained to Chelsea Handler on Chelsea Lately, back on season one of True Blood she needed liquid courage to get through the day.

Or, in her own more colorful words, "I was hammered for that ... It was like 7 in the morning and I was chugging vodka completely naked while a makeup artist I had just met was on her knees in front of me, like sponging my ass."

She then continued with her hilarious story, explaining, "I've never told anybody this, but I was so nervous and I was so drunk, that after I shot the scene, I was going up to the crew members -- I had just met all these people the day before -- and I was going up to all them and going, 'You got a boner!'"

Thankfully she's now comfortable with all those sex scenes on her Showtime show, but not necessarily about sharing them with family. Apparently, she has a special tape made for family members with all the nude and sex scenes removed.

"My father and a few other family members they get a special 'Lizzy's family' link, which has everything in it except for me naked. It's really nice. They've made it very clear that will not be happening in Season 2, apparently it's very expensive and takes a lot of time. ... I don't think it's something that people usually ask for."
