'Lizzie McGuire' Actor Daniel Escobar Dead at 49

Daniel Escobar, the actor who played teacher Mr. Escobar on Lizzie McGuire, has passed away at 49 due to complications with diabetes.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, he died on Friday (Dec. 13) in a hospital in Los Angeles.

In addition to appearing on the Disney channel show opposite Hilary Duff from 2001 to 2002, Escobar also had a recurring role on Dharma & Greg and acted on shows like Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Malcolm in the Middle, NYPD Blue, Two and a Half Men, Charmed, Desperate Housewives and How I Met Your Mother.

A trained Shakesperean actor, Escobar also reprised his role for The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
