Lil Wayne to retire after 'Tha Carter 5'

Lil Wayne might not be long for the rap world.

While on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, the rapper announced a timetable for his retirement. “I want to retire after Tha Carter 5, which I hope will be my last album.”

Of course, his retirement is still likely a long way off. “My next album isn’t Tha Carter 5," said Lil Wayne. "I think I have to work on other albums as well. Like, with my pop Birdman, things like that. But, after Tha Carter 5, I hope I can retire.”

What will post-retirement life be like for the rapper who once used his one prison phone call to record a guest verse on Drake's "Light Up"? Lil Wayne says he plans on simply spending time with his four kids. So Will Smith won't be the only retired rapper dedicating his time to his children. Just don't expect Lil Wayne to come out of retirement with a cover of "Just the Two of Us."
