Lifetime to Air Fourth and Final 'Flowers In the Attic' Movie
Lifetime just can't stay out of the attic.
Before the third movie has even premiered, Lifetime has officially given the greenlight to a fourth and final Flowers in the Attic film from the books by V.C. Andrews. The movie, titled Seeds of Yesterday, is expected to air at some point following the premiere of If There Be Thorns, the third installment in the franchise set for 2015.
Jason Lewis and Rachael Carpani will return as Christopher and Cathy Dollangager. Lewis and Carpani are taking over from Wyatt Nash and Rose McIver, respectively, who played Christopher and Cathy in Petals on the Wind. Nash and McIver, in turn, inherited the roles from Mason Dye and Kiernan Shipka in Flowers in the Attic. However, Lewis and Carpani will not be alone among newcomers, as Big Time Rush star James Maslow will join the cast as Bart Dollanganger.
It certainly makes sense that Lifetime would look to add another film to the series: Petals on the Wind raked in 3.4 million viewers during its debut over Memorial Day, although this was a considerable drop from the 6.1 million viewers who gave Flowers in the Attic a look back in January. Regardless, Lifetime wants to get as much out of this franchise as they can while the property still has some amount of cultural cache remaining.
