Lewis Hamilton wins British Grand Prix 2014 (VIDEO)

Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix 2014 on Sunday, July 6, 2014. Lewis was behind his teammate Nico Rosberg through most of the race until Rosberg retired due to car failure (gear box issue).

This was Hamilton's second British Grand Prix win. "England!" said Lewis to his Mercedes pit crew after crossing the checkered flag.

The race was delayed by one hour after Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen crashed on a railing on the opening lap and mechanics had to repair it. Kimi was OK but with a bruised ankle. The crash also collected Williams's Felipe Massa.

This was Rosberg's first retirement of the season, but he still leads the driver's championship over Hamilton by 4 points.

I am so happy for Lewis. He really needed this to boost his confidence after a poor showing on Saturday during qualifying. He started sixth on the grid, but was able to move up to second during the race. However, Rosberg held a 5 second lead throughout, until his retirement.

Valteri Bottas of Williams who started fourteenth on the grid was second and Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull was third.

Go go go Lewis Hamilton!
