Lewis Hamilton wins 2014 Japanese Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton won a rain-soaked 2014 Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka. The race was red-flagged after an accident involving Jules Bianchi that brought in an ambulance.

The race started with the safety car as rain from Typhoon Phanfone soaked the race track. After 2 laps, the race was red flagged until the rain stopped. The race continued and was stopped again after a safety car and then a red flag on lap 46.

Adrian Sutil crashed into a barrier and while a crane was getting the car, unofficial accounts said that Bianchi hit it. An ambulance was seen at the crash site.

Lewis' teammate at Mercedes Nico Rosberg started the race at pole, but Lewis Hamilton was able to overtake him halfway through the race.

Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull finished third. Last Friday, Vettel announced he was moving to Ferrari for the 2015 season.

This was a tough race and an unfortunate result in the end with the accident. The drivers were instructed not to spray champagne on the podium.

Update: Jules Bianchi of the Marussia Formula One team was taken from the Suzuka race track to a local hospital unconscious after a massive accident late in the race.
