Lewis Hamilton wins 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton won the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

This was Lewis' first win in Bahrain. The race was run for the first time under the floodlights at night.

His Mercedes F1 teammate Nico Rosberg who started in pole, finished in second. Sergio Perez of Force India Mercedes finished in third.

This was an amazing race!

Lewis overtook Nico in the first lap and both cars pulled away from the the rest of the cars throughout the race. However, after a safety car was deployed with 10 laps to go -- after yet another accident involving Pastor Maldonado -- Nico had better tires and threatened to take the lead from Lewis. Lewis however was able to hold him off.

Most of the Mercedes-powered cars did really well with a lot of intra-team battles.

Nico Rosberg still leads the world championship points.
