Levi Miller Cast as Young Peter Pan in Joe Wright's 'Pan'

Joe Wright has found his Peter Pan.

Newcomer Levi Miller has been cast as the young Peter Pan in the Atonement director's origin story, Pan.

Miller, who previously appeared on the short-lived FOX series Terra Nova, joins a cast that already includes Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as the young Hook, and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily. The story, a new take on the origin of the Boy Who Never Grew Up, focuses on a "young orphan boy from London as he's spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he faces off against Blackbeard, the story's main villain."

Warner Bros. is basically intending to reinvent the Peter Pan mythos by using an international, multi-ethnic cast, which apparently means lots of white people, for some reason.

Still, I'm a sucker for Peter Pan stories, and I'm a longtime fan of Wright's work (I don't think he's made a film yet that I haven't loved, whether Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, or even his Anna Karenina adaptation), so I'll be looking forward to seeing this when it hits theaters on July 15, 2015. How about you? Sound off in the comments!
