Lego planning Reality TV show involving Master Builders

Lego is planning a reality TV show according to a report from The Guardian on Tuesday.

The Danish company behind the popular building blocks which spawned the mega hit The Lego Movie, is developing a reality TV series and a separate TV series involving a new property in 2015.

Jill Wilfert, vice-president of global licensing and distribution for Lego, said the company is "exploring some reality competition show formats, which is new for us: the idea of becoming a Master Builder is something we think could be quite resonating".

A Lego documentary is also set to air in 2015.

After the success of The Lego Movie, Lego is now the biggest toy maker in the world, passing Barbie's creator Mattel.

The sequel to the movie, now involving Batman called Lego Batman, is set to premiere in 2017.

Lego has been wanting to enter the Reality TV space for some time now, first floating the idea of a Lego Reality TV show back in 2009.
