Lee Norris Returning as Stuart Minkus in 'Girl Meets World'
With each new bit of casting news, it seems increasingly likely that just about anyone who was in Boy Meets World is returning for the upcoming spin-off, Girl Meets World.
Case in point, Lee Norris will reprise his role as Stuart Minkus, the class brain who pretty much disappeared from the story the minute Cory, Shawn, and Topanga transitioned from middle school to high school. Of course, in one of the show's best fourth wall-breaking jokes, Norris returned as Minkus for the high school graduation episode, explaining that he never really left, he was just on "the other side of the school." (I've embedded it below so definitely check it out. It's one of my favorite bits from the series)
“I’ve had a great time being back on set with some of my old friends,” Norris said of his return to the show. “It still amazes me how many people love and remember Minkus, and I’m excited for the fans to catch up with him after all these years.”

After leaving Boy Meets World, Norris went on to find success on The WB/The CW's One Tree Hill, playing the role of Marvin "Mouth" McFadden for nine seasons. He's also worked on the big screen, appearing in such films as David Fincher's Zodiac. Norris even has a role as Officer Washington in Fincher's hotly-anticipated adaptation of Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl starring Ben Affleck.
However, even with all that under his belt, Minkus remains one of his best-known roles. And so it's encouraging that, unlike many child stars who want to get away from their best-known parts, Norris doesn't exactly seem to mind returning to the role. The actor was recently photographed on the set during filming, displaying a grown-up Minkus who appears to be every bit the lovable nerd he was in the 90s. Check it out:

Naturally, while we continue to get news on who's been cast and which characters will return for the show, Disney has still yet to release the one bit of info everyone is waiting for: a premiere date. We know that the show has been picked up to series, with an order of 21 episodes, yet we don't know when the show will premiere on Disney Channel besides "sometime in 2014." Perhaps Disney just wants to make sure the production has the time it needs to get everything perfect, without the constraints of a rushed schedule. But it's strange that Disney doesn't even seem to want to ballpark a premiere date (Summer? Fall?). That said, with any luck, "sometime in 2014" will come sooner rather than later.
