Switched at Birth star Lea Thompson will be heading to Las Vegas!

The actress will appear on CSI in a guest starring role during November sweeps, TVGuide.com reports.

Thompson will play "a smart, no-nonsense woman who knows her way around a CSI lab after working crime scenes in Detroit. She now works as a defense criminalist and will work very closely during her episode with Finlay (Elisabeth Shue)."

The role should keep Thompson busy while Switched at Birth is on hiatus. The hit ABC Family drama, which hit a near season-high of 1.96 million viewers for its finale in August, will return for its third season in January 2014. As for CSI, the venerable CBS crime drama returns on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 10/9c on CBS.
