Laverne Cox to Star on MTV's 'Faking It'

One of the stars of Orange Is the New Black is going to fake it on MTV.

The Emmy-nominated Laverne Cox will guest star in an upcoming Season 2 episode of MTV’s Faking It. She will play the role of Margot, "a Hester High alum and the director of the school’s elite drama club. Demanding, intense, and full of herself, Margot is a big fish in a small pond—in her mind, at least. While holding auditions for the drama club, Margot puts hopefuls through a ghastly series of exercises, all designed to strip them down to their cores."

This has been a whirlwind year for Cox. In addition to becoming the first transgender Emmy nominee in history for her role as Sophia Burset on Orange Is the New Black, Cox is currently writing a memoir detailing her struggles as a transgender woman, as well as documenting her journey towards stardom. She has also booked a guest-starring role on Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. In short, Cox is a busy woman, and her role on Faking It is simply the latest gig she's lined up.

Season 2 of Faking It premieres Sept. 23 at 10:30 PM on MTV.
