Lauren Platt sings 'Story of My Life' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)

Lauren Platt sang 'Story of My Life' on The X Factor UK Semifinals on December 6, 2014.

I have mixed feelings about this. While the beginning was pretty rough, to the point where I think a subdued, piano-based arrangement would have suited her much better, I think this actually became a bit of a moment by the end of it. This is due, in large part, to the emotion of seeing the actual story of her life play out behind her in the form of photos on the video screen. That story matched the build of the song, as it reached a crescendo and came across like she had just won the competition. Perception is everything, and even though the vocal wasn't amazing or anything, she still came across like an underdog worth rooting for.

But what do you think of Lauren Platt?
