Lauren Platt sings 'Let It Go' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)

Lauren Platt sang 'Let It Go' on The X Factor UK Live Show 3 on October 25, 2014.

Ugh. You know, I'm actually willing to donate to any fund that whose purpose is to prevent this song from ever being performed on a singing competition again. I LOVE Lauren, and I thought she actually did an excellent job with this. But I just wish she had performed something else. I mean, hot damn, this song is oversaturating the market, and long past the point of its cultural apex. It's bad enough that she got saddled with this track, but it's even worse that she got stuck with the Demi Lovato version, which trims the best part of the song ("Let the storm rage on...") and adopts a pop-rock arrangement that just feels like a karaoke backing track. Again, LOVED Lauren, but HATED the song choice. She's one of my favorites in this competition, but neither she nor Lola got the best song choices they could have gotten this week, which has me wondering if having Cheryl as their mentor is doing them more harm than good. Luckily, both girls are talented enough to overcome whatever obstacles might be put in their way. But it's going to be a struggle at times. Great performance here, but the song choice and its arrangement were too boring and safe, in my opinion.

But what do you think of Lauren Platt?
