Lauren London cast as new female lead in BET's The Game
When the news broke that acclaimed actress Tia Mowry-Hardrict would be departing popular urban series The Game, everyone knew there would be big shoes to fill. Now it has been revealed that BET has cast actress Lauren London as the new female lead.
London, whose credits include the films ATL & This Christmas, as well as the television series 90210, will play Kiera, "a former child star who is currently appearing in a Cosby Show-esque sitcom." The producers are still looking for the male lead as an "all-star running back" to replace Pooch Hall's Derwin. Congratulations to Lauren but one has to wonder where the show is going from here, as many have been unfavorable of the show since its move to BET already. The departure of Mowry added a mega blow, but if London brings it (with a proper storyline, that is), I'm here for it.
