Lady Gaga fires back at Madonna for 'Born This Way' Mashup - Video

Lady Gaga lashed out at Madonna (without naming her) during her concert in New Zealand.

Madonna performed a mashup of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" with "Express Yourself" on her MDNA Tour, and Lady Gaga said that she's following her fans and not fighting back. She added that things are different now from 25 years ago and we don't have to "slice and hate each other anymore."

Oh please, Gaga. The whole point of this beef with Madonna is you acting like some trailblazer in society, when you wouldn't have your "act" if Madonna hadn't broken all the rules (as in everything) years ago. Your look is a derivative of Madonna circa-Vogue, and the title track of your current album "Born This Way" is a derivative of one of her hits "Express Yourself". Simple as that. Don't pretend that it's not.

"I don't even want to fight back because it's more important to me to keep writing music."

"When I look into your eyes every night, I don't see a fan base that wants me to fight or bite or be shady and cunty the way that we all used to be. It's OK. It's fun, right? But at the end of the day we're in a new place in society now."

"Things are really different now than they were 25 years ago and that's what makes 'Born This Way' so relevant for me, is that I really want you all to notice this tremendous place that we're in right now."

"We're just socially in a completely different place and it's OK, we don't all have to slice and hate each other anymore."
