Kris Allen To Debut Under 85K Copies On First Week
The Billboard 200 charts come out on Thursday. Nielsen SoundScan should have numbers tomorrow. However, Hits Daily Double is already predicting that Kris Allen will be the lowest-selling American Idol winner in the first week moving 84,846 copies. Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood and the soundtrack of Twilight Saga New Moon outsold him.
Jordin Sparks previously held the record with 119,100 copies on her first week, but she went on to sell more than a million copies for her debut album. The worst-selling Idol winner's debut album for now is Taylor Hicks with 704,000 total.
Wow. Kris Allen did not sell 100,000 on his first week, even with pre-orders.
