Kris Allen - Live Like We're Dying - Drops Out of iTunes Top 100
Wow. I am so disappointed. After only 2 weeks in the iTunes charts, Kris Allen's Live Like We're Dying is out of the Top 100 Songs Chart. So bummed.
Just this week, Live Like We're Dying made it to the Billboard Hot 100 Chart at #89, so I was hoping that the single could linger on iTunes a little bit longer. I also read a 150-word favorable review in Rolling Stone magazine which got me excited again. (I took a picture of it, but last night I lost my camera in a taxi. Also, the picture I took with my phone was unreadable.)
Why isn't 19E/Jive promoting this single more? Where's the radio airplay? What are they doing?
Anyway, I saw this coming with the downward trend a few days ago, but I didn't think I would write this post this soon. With the openly defiant attacks on me on Twitter and here on my blog over the past 2 weeks, I could have sworn a formidable Kris Allen publicity machine was against me. Now I don't know what to do. If no one's going to listen to me (good or bad) then what's the point? But here goes: please buy the single!
There is still hope however. In a couple of weeks, Kris Allen will shoot the music video and that should give the single some life. And by that time, we should have some publicity with the album release. I am also VERY CONFIDENT that Kris Allen will have the #1 Album in America on November 17, 2009 even if he is against: The Fall by Norah JonesImage: , ECHO by Leona LewisImage: , Battle Studies by John MayerImage: , She Wolf by ShakiraImage: and My World by Justin BieberImage: . This I am certain. I believe the pre-orders on iTunes at the end of the American Idol season will kick in, and that will push Kris Allen's numbers up to #1. What I am worried about is staying power.
Live Like We're Dying is a nice and catchy tune, but right now it doesn't have any legs. Why the face! If there's any consolation, Daughtry's single "No Surprise" only spent one week on the Billboard Hot 100 -- but then again it peaked at #15.
