Keith Urban Inducted into the Grand Ole Opry - Video

Every Grand Ole Opry member has made some kind of influential mark on Country music. From George Jones and Dolly Parton to Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood, some of music's biggest legends (and stars) have become a part of a close knit group of people. The newest member into that group is Keith Urban -- who was inducted into the Opry Saturday night, April 21, 2012.

The ceremony included performances by Trace Adkins, Josh Turner, and a special video message from Brad Paisley. Adkins had the pleasure of bestowing the honor on Urban.

Urban told the crowd:
“It’s a long way from Caboolture [Queensland, Australia] to the stage here at the Grand Ole Opry … and to stand in this circle is the most phenomenal thing. This is a responsibility that I take deep to the heart of me. I tell the Opry why this touches me is for two things: one is that it says you know where my heart is, and [two] it once and for all shows the global popularity and reach of country music. I’m the first, of I’m sure many, non-Northern American born inductees into the hall because it is truly a global thing. As Tom T. Hall said, it’s a state of mind. I honor the history of country music, but I absolutely fully dedicate myself to the future of country music as well.”
