Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves Team Up For CMT Crossroads

Last week country's sweetheart Kacey Musgraves and pop superstar Katy Perry teamed up for an episode of CMT Crossroads, which pairs a country artist with one outside of the genre. The two sing versions of each other's songs, as well as a random cover, this time Dolly Parton's 'Here You Come Again'.

The pairing might come across a little strange for some people, but not only is Kacey joining her pop sister for the Prismatic World Tour this summer, but she thinks that they make total sense as a collaboration. "If you look at it, I mean she's super whimsical and I can be super whimsical with my light up boots and my cactus and stuff," Kacey explains. "But at the very core we're songwriters, and the lyrics mean the most above all the fireworks. And the Crossroads, the coming together of our music is going to be so incredible."

She also has a genuine love for Katy's music. "I am such a huge Katy Perry fan and I have been since I found out about her music and she basically changed music." She muses. "And she's been such a huge supporter of me and a good friend and just such a light for me and my music."

The pair sang hits such as Katy's 'Roar' and 'Teenage Dream', as well as Kacey's 'Merry Go Round' and 'Follow Your Arrow' during the taping in Los Angeles. The episode will air on Friday, June 13th at 10pm ET/PT and will be repeated during the days and weeks afterwards.
