Katy Perry, John Mayer break up...again

John Mayer and Katy Perry, the only two people on Earth to get as much creative mileage out of high-profile relationships as Taylor Swift, have broken up. Again.

The pair started dating last summer before breaking up for a brief period back in August. They were reportedly back together before the month was out.

Mayer last month told CBS Sunday Morning about his relationship with Katy Perry, “For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m in a celebrity relationship… For me it feels like something that’s very human.”

No word on how Katy Perry felt about the relationship since, after her high-profile marriage to comedian Russell Brand went belly-up in late 2011, the pop singer has kept mum about her love life. This had all the earmarks of a wise decision, since trumpeting how in love you are on talk shows across the world tends to put a jinx on a relationship.

As for the cause of the breakup, no one knows just yet, but I'm sure it had nothing to do with the lovebirds hating one another's music.
