Katy Perry announces new album title, release date via truck
Two of the most hotly anticipated albums of the fall are offerings from Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. While the latter singer has already announced that her album will release on August 25, Katy Perry has lagged behind on official announcements. Well, until now.
Hitfix reports that a gold-painted semi-truck made its way through Hollywood today (July 29) with the words "Katy Perry," "Prism" and "10.22.13" emblazoned on the side.
Fans quickly began tweeting photos of the truck, at which point Perry confirmed that "Prism" is, indeed, the album title, and that October 22 is the official release date.
"Find the ?#PRISM? semi, take a picture and I'll RT you. Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map," Perry stated via Twitter. So where is the truck headed next? And what's in the damn thing? It could be nothing at all, but Perry has found an amusing way to get tongues wagging.
